Lonesome Lake Trail follows East Fork Homestake Creek for about five miles to Lonesome Lake in Holy Cross Wilderness and the San Isabel National Forest of Colorado. These panoramas were shot in late June, when Lonesome Lake Trail can be hiked for only a few miles without encountering snow. Progress much further without snowshoes or skis will be slow with extra time spent sinking through the snow and route finding. The trail ends at Lonesome Lake at almost 11,600 feet. It's a marvelous hike but perhaps better suited for mid-July through October. Please click the images above to view the interactive panoramas.
